End of 2015 to New Beginnings

Posted on December 19, 2015 at 2:05 PM Comments comments (0)

Well, nearing the end of 2015... hard to believe the year is almost at a close and we will be ringing in 2016!  I have been writing down the goals I have for 2016 (other than school of course!) and Be Well Lifestyle LLC.  Also working on the 2016 goals for the family as we have gotten a bit off track, but as I said, working on the goals to get back on track for a healthier 2016!  My family and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!  Looking forward to the new beginnings!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

WHEW!  I am ready for a late nap!  I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!  This is our 2nd one away from family and yet feels like our first official one as our family.  I know sounds odd right?  Since we have started working on making our own lifestyle change as a family, this was my chance to really go out of my typical element and really make our own family Thanksgiving traditions and do it our way.  Or my family may say my way... regardless they usually end up loving what I make no matter whos way it is LOL.  So we had our turkey which I drizzled with the butter infused grapeseed oil from Wildtree and used a few of their different blends one being one of our faves, Garlic Galore Blend (YUM!). Of course my daughter helped with the mashed potatoes which we added shredded cheddar cheese to make it our own and she also made the deviled eggs all on her own!  So proud of my shadow!  :-) We also had organic herbed stuffing, green bean casserole, buns, and of course I made pumpkin and apple pies (for the first time ever!).  I made the pie crust from scratch which terrified me but the recipe I found was 4 ingredients and so super simple and what a flaky crust!  So then came making the pumpkin pie filling and the apple filling.  When my family (especially my picky eater son) eats the pumpkin pie and all of them say "This is really good!" I'm doing the happy dance because I know I nailed it!  Woot woot!! Overall, I have to say for our first "official" Thanksgiving, it went way better than I anticipated!  Click on the links in blue to see where I got the recipes from - very easy and yummy!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!  Til Later!
